Chimney Works just completed the installation of an extensive kitchen exhaust system for a grocery store in Washington, DC. We used DuraSystems Model KEX which is a double wall 2-hour fire-rated grease duct. The duct runs connected to various kitchen hoods such as a fryer hood, bagel kettle, main kitchen hood, and pizza oven. The ducts ran through the grocery store and up to the roof where they connected to fans (installed by another contractor). DuraSystems can create custom square-to-round or round-to-square transitions. These transitions are used to connect to various pieces of equipment. The fans and hoods we joined benefited from these innovative kitchen exhaust systems. Access doors are strategically placed throughout the duct runs to allow easy cleaning.
